GUIDED MEDITATION
LEVEL 1 INTRODUCTION – Journey into Self
These series of 5 sessions allow you to develop an awareness of your strength and to learn skills and techniques to heal and integrate the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual i.e. your body, your mind and how you are feeling with your awareness and connection to your higher Self. You will be guided through your practice.
Session 1
Breath focus meditation
Information is given about the art of meditation. Meditation has many benefits on all aspects of life. Among the other things, when practiced regularly, it decreases blood pressure, relieves stress, and increases creativity. The positive results extend to all relationships and into the community.
The participants are guided through the Meditation technique then practice this by doing a 30 minute meditation. There is time to discuss concerns and to debrief.
Session 2
Repetition / Mantra or chant meditation
The session begins with sharing the experiences and concerns of the meditation of the previous week. There is then a discussion on health. The participants are guided through the Mantra Meditation technique then practice this by doing a 30 minute meditation. There is time to discuss concerns and to debrief.
Session 3
Light meditation
The session begins with sharing the experiences and concerns of the meditation of the previous week.
A recognition/honouring process is a part of this session. In this, the strengths of participants are recognised, and they, in turn, have the opportunity to recognise those around them.
The participants are guided through the Visual Focus Meditation technique then practice this by doing a 30 minute meditation. There is time to discuss concerns and to debrief.
Session 4
Breath meditation
The session begins with sharing the experiences and concerns of the meditation of the previous week. There is a discussion on stress and it effects. The participants are guided through the Breath Meditation technique then practice this by doing a 30 minute meditation. There is time to discuss concerns and to debrief.
Session 5
Integration of some the techniques and Guided Visualisation Meditation
The session begins with sharing the experiences and concerns of the meditation of the previous week. There is a guided visualisation meditation integrating some of the techniques learn. There is time to discuss concerns and to brief. The participants share their own recognition stories from the “honouring” experience.
During sessions 1, 2 & 4 there will be time to briefly address topics related to focus, change, balance stress, exercise and diet– or anything else that may be of interest to the particular group of participants.
Everyone learns differently; some are visual (learning by sight), some are auditory (learning by hearing), some are kinaesthetic (learning by the sense and the feel in the body), some use a combination of these ways. The Journey into Self is a GUIDED MEDITATION workshop and has been created so that all the learning styles are used
To reinforce the new concepts, participants practice the technique taught in the session during the following week. Teaching it this way allows for practice.
At the end of this experiential 5 week workshop each person has a skill set and knows the technique(s) that resonate best with them.
The effects, concerns and results arising from the previous week are discussed at the beginning of the session in the following week.
Note
Practising and applying a skill over a 3-4 week period allows it to be included as a routine in one’s life.
